Andy Goundry FNAEA BSc (Hons), Director

Andy started as an estate agent immediately after completing his university education. Starting as a negotiator based in Truro with Tremaynes Estate Agents and quickly rising through the ranks to manager before he joined Black Horse Agencies in 1989, in just 12 months he transformed the Falmouth office performance from the worst performing office in the South West to 1st position.

He went on to manage the very successful Truro office for a short period before being promoted to Area Sales Manager and then onto Area Sales Director at the age of 29, responsible for 16 sales offices. He was also appointed to the National Training Committee to assist with writing and delivering training to the 450 plus branch network.  In 2001 Andy and his wife Karen decided they wanted to return to Cornwall to give their children the lifestyle and upbringing they had enjoyed.

Andy joined Your Move based in Truro with area responsibility in Cornwall and also passed his CMap financial services qualifications with responsibility for sales and financial services within his area. Never afraid of hard work and having always been dedicated to providing honest straight forward advice Andy decided it was time to put all that hard work and effort into his own company in 2004.

During Goundrys Estate Agents time Andy has always been prepared to move with the times, adapt to market needs and seek to deliver the highest possible service standards.  Above all, Andy enjoys the customer contact and relationship building with the clients, many of whose houses he has sold on numerous occasions over the years and continues to be a frontline estate agent. Andy is also a former chairman of the Cornwall branch of the National Association of Estate Agents and an advocate of raising Estate Agency standards to the highest levels.


Karen Goundry, Director and Lettings Administrator

Karen started in Estate Agency in 1985 when she was branch secretary at the Tremaynes Truro branch which is where she met Andy.  Having supported Andy throughout his career, she has primarily been an administrator in estate agency offices over the years including Black Horse Agencies and Bradford & Bingley ensuring the smooth running and compliance of the branches.  On returning to Cornwall Karen spent 6 years helping her parents to run the Driftwood Spars Hotel in St Agnes before returning to Estate Agency in 2008 to become the administrator for Goundrys Estate Agents.  Having been the administrator in the sales department for the last 4 years Karen is now using her valuable support and organisational experience in the Goundrys lettings department.


Emma Ward (Was Goundry) CPEA. , Letings Accounts Manager

Emma joined the company in 2006, initially to do sales viewings at a weekend but soon became a full time member of staff. She quickly obtained her CPEA qualifications having decided to follow in her father’s footsteps. In 2007 she moved into lettings as the department was formed and gained her ARLA qualifications, realising the necessity to understand the intricacies of the lettings sector. She took over the day to day management of the department in 2009 and, along with her team, is responsible for the success that it is today.


David Goundry, ARLA, Lettings Property Manager

David, like his sister, joined in 2009, initially on a part time basis.  Again taking to the business like a duck to water and with expansion of the department David joined full time in 2010.  David has completed his technical award for Residential Lettings & Management and is APIP qualified.  


Karen Hall, Truro Sales Manager

Karen has worked in Estate Agency since 1980 when she started working for Stratton Holborrow as office junior. In 1984 Karen joined Fox & Sons as a secretary and with her incredible appetite for work and dedication moved into a sales role. A role in which she has excelled at ever since. She enjoys nothing more than seeing that wonderful expression on buyers faces when she hands the keys over to their dream home. In 1999 Karen became sales manager at Your Move in Truro and continued to excel, winning a multitude of sales awards.

She joined Goundrys Estate agents in 2005, not long after the company started in 2004. “I love working here as we are able to offer all the services we are good at and leave behind everything that sellers and buyers disliked about corporate estate agents, namely trying to sell clients products they didn’t want and often didn’t need”. “We pride ourselves in being friendly, approachable and honest and will do our best to achieve what each buyer and seller wants”. “This is a proper family run business and everyone cares about the customers and staff”. Gareth joined Goundrys Estate Agents in February 2013 after having previously worked for another independent agency in the County. Making the transition from Lettings to Sales,He brings excellent customer care standards along with tremendous enthusiasm.

Charlie has been an estate agent since 1999 and has a wealth of valuation and sales experience in both corporate and independent agencies in the Truro and Falmouth areas. Having grown up in St Agnes, Charlie has extensive knowledge of the local area and enjoys the variety of properties in our local marketplace. Charlie has been a valued member of the Goundrys team since 2010 and is renowned for his excellent photographic eye and attention to detail when preparing sales particulars.



Jessica Mansell, Truro

Jessica is the newest member of our team and joins the lettings team having previously worked in recruitment within the Truro area.



Andrew Hinks, Truro Senior Sales Consultant

Andrew Hincks

Andrew has a wealth of estate agency experience having worked in the industry since 1999, with the vast majority of that time being based in Truro. He has worked in both the corporate and independent agency world during that period and has been involved in the sale and purchase of thousands of properties over the years. As a result Andrew knows the local market place extremely well having also lived in Carnon Downs and Truro over recent times. Andrew is primarily based in the Truro Office, undertaking sales valuations, viewings and getting his experienced teeth tucked into negotiations and helping to progress sales through to completion.



Linda Spelman, Lettings Property Consultant 

Linda Spelman

Linda started her property career with Barclays Bank in the 1970's and offers a wealth of experience. Initially training in conveyancing, she moved on to the role of Property manager before moving to Cornwall to get married. Linda joined Orchard Cottages in 1988 which had been set up mainly as a holiday let business and developed into one of the first Letting Agents south and west of Truro A Member of NAEA for over 20 years Linda has also been the ARLA Representative for Cornwall for many years and is a Qualified inventory provider too.

 

Jess Smith. Lettings Administrator

Jess has joined the tem in November 2015 to compliment the existing team as the department continues to expand and brins with her experience gained in 2 previous local lettings companies.
